In this paper, we presented a passive acceleration sensor for the detection of the peak value of an imposed acceleration. The sensor allows to measure and store amplitude peaks in the range from 1.9 g to 9.7 g with a resolution of 6 .This paper introduces a shock sensor design that requires zero power, is small, low cost, and can be remotely monitored. The sensor combines a latching accelerometer with a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip. This paper describes a battery-free threshold shock sensor with wireless readout via RFID circuitry.
