I've got an ID-12LA RFID tag reader hooked up to an Arduino Duemilanove via a Sparkfun breakout board. Currently, it is reading the RFID tag, but only when I hold it about 1cm or closer to the RFID reader. I have tested this running off both USB and a 9VDC plugpack, and with multiple RFID tags. I've been working at this project for a while in various incarnations and am running into trouble. Here is what I'm trying to accomplish, 3 separate RFID readers able to read tag presence and output whether a tag is present or not and that tags ID string.
You really need an Arduino that has more than one hardware serial port, or you need to connect one of your RFID readers to the hardware serial port. Is it possible to solve this in the software, by letting the rfid-readers listen in turns? (and how would this be done?)
We'll be using the ID Innovations ID-12 to perform the task of reading an RFID tag. At a minimum, it requires +5V, ground, and a digital pin (on the Arduino) that we will utilize for serial communication.
I've read about ISO14443A tags and that they should work with the RC522 RFID Arduino reader, however it's reading speed is slow. I have no need for a long reading range, quite small actually, all my tags are disposed separated from . for a project I need to “read in” three ID-12LA RFID reader. I tried to use the SoftwareSerial-Library but it is not working. If I initialize more than 1 SoftwareSerial-Port the Leonardo stops outputting serial data over the serial monitor.
Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) Read Multiple ID-12LA with Arduino Leonardo. Search. 3 posts; 3 posts; Reply. Read Multiple ID-12LA with Arduino Leonardo .The Qwiic RFID ID-XXLA is an I 2 C solution that pairs with the ID-LA modules: ID-3LA, the ID-12LA, or the ID-20LA, and utilizes 125kHz RFID chips. Using the product's interrupt pin, we'll discuss how to get, store, and compare unique RFID IDs.You probably want to use UHF RFID for this. The Adafruit PN532 is only capable of reading max 2 tags at a time in an alternating fashion. This is confirmed by the board's designer in the Adafruit forums.
In this blog post, we'll be using the ID-12LA RFID reader which can read signals at the frequency of 125kHz. We'll also be using the Qwiic RFID reader and a SparkFun RedBoard to make setting up the system as hassle-free as possible!
